Nashville Visit

This past September I made a weekend of it and went to Nashville to visit my sister. We knew it was going to be a pretty full weekend, partially because I try to use every waking moment and partially because we wanted to hit as many neighborhoods as possible in 48 hours. We hit SIX, so I would say the weekend was pretty successful. Without question, the weekend was filled to the brim with food, drinks & shopping.

We hit up quite a few neighborhoods which, included - Hillsboro West End, 12th South, 8th Ave, Gulch, East Nashville & Germantown. Abigail and I were on the hunt for a few things so thrifting (a general requirement for any city I visit) and checking out Made in Nashville were two requirements. It was one of those gorgeous fall days so I got to see some beautiful houses on our walk to Centennial Park to shop at Made to Nashville. Let me tell you, the trip was a success! We had some difficulty finding the actual event, but once we did there were too many things to decide between. Abigail, my sister, racked up in the food department with some jellies, caramel and bread while I couldn't help but to buy a few bracelets and rings. We also checked out the food trucks and got a gourmet grilled cheeses from The Grilled Cheeserie, which I highly recommend! The thrifting wasn't as much a success as I would have hoped, but we did check out 8th Ave.

We then ventured to 12th South, which I fell in love with. One of my favorite stops while I was down there was this super intriguing home & gift boutique, Cadeau. In fact, I made my sister stop in with me twice! I am pretty sure that I would have bought the entire store if I could; however I only left with images. Here are a few snapshots that I took while we were there & my thoughts on this gem of a store.

  • loved all the "little moments" tucked into the larger landscape
  • styling throughout told a multitude of stories
  • cozy & inviting while still maintaining a fabulous edgy vibe
  • soo MANY pretty things to see, I mean I had to go in twice!
  • I only wish there had been just a little sale section

Cocktails at the diner, Flipside, down the street and dinner where up next. The diner had a great atmosphere and kinda felt like you stepped back in time, but we wanted something a bit fancier for dinner so we headed over to Germantown to City House for dinner. Which was beyond delicious! We took our time, and although it was tempting to go back to the apartment and curl up, we went to Station Inn in the Gulch. I mean you can't go to Nashville and not check out the music scene! We heard a band, which was kinda country, kinda bluegrass, but the best part was it was all so personal and intimate.

The weekend wouldn't be complete though without brunch & mimosas, so Mad Donna's in East Nashville was our last neighborhood stop for the weekend. It wasn't a huge place, but it was quite delicious and the perfect start to the day, which was to be filled with re-arranging my sister's apartment! Overall, it was a pretty wonderful, packed fall weekend with the sis!

Until next time Nashville...
