Cheers to a year of great cocktails!

The Old Fashioned is a true classic and still one of my absolute favorite drinks. It was my first post on the blog and still one of the drink recipes that I get asked most about. If you haven't tried it yet check out the recipe here!

If the quantity (and quality) of cocktail and drink recipes posted here on the blog is any indication of how the year has been, I'd say we've had a pretty good time! When Amanda and I began discussing what we wanted to write about on Mishaps & Mimosas we always knew we wanted to include cocktail recipes and favorite wine selections- it's part of our name after all! We both love playing host to friends and family- whether it's a party of two or a whole house-full- and part of our passion for all things hospitality includes sharing really good drinks with the ones we love. It's hard not to feel celebratory when you have a glass of bubbly in your hand- no matter what the circumstances! We believe here that life is an adventure best explored with a good friend and a great cocktail and we love continuing to share our experiences with you!

To celebrate our years worth of mishaps and mimosas, I've pulled together a few images and links to some of my favorite drink posts from the year. A lot of these drinks would be great for enjoying over the upcoming holidays with family... or really for any night. Because any night can be a reason to celebrate with a great cocktail or glass of wine!

The Aperol Spritz was a new find for me this past September while I was traveling through Italy and I have to say it is now one of my favorites. The combination of Prosecco and Aperol is so refreshing and perfect as an aperitif! Find out how to make it here!

The French Martini is definitely an award winning cocktail, both for its simplicity in making and for its undeniable tastiness! We shared the recipe with our Oscar party post here- try it out at your next party!

Despite chilly temperatures, I'm still majorly in the mood for good gin cocktails and this cucumber mint gimlet we shared last December does not disappoint! Also check out the Bibimbap inspired recipe shared with this drink- it's a great everyday recipe that is good for one or a large group!
