Mothers Day Sangria

Every celebration deserves a great drink! Treat Mom this Sunday to a fruity sangria- a perfect and super simple pairing for a group brunch, lunch or dinner. With this sangria I swapped out the more traditional ingredients, usually red wine, apples, and oranges, for a mix of sweet and summery seasonal berries and watermelon. Combined with a crisp, dry (re: not sweet) rosé wine this is a dangerously delicious beverage that can be enjoyed with almost any meal or on its own. Not familiar with rosé wines? Check out this quick introduction to this incredibly versatile and inexpensive wine option. You'll find it may become your staple drink for the summer!

Simple summery ingredients come together to make this tasty Sangria.

Rose Sangria

1 bottle of dry rosé wine- you can use a sparkling rosé if you prefer

3 Tbs. Triple Sec or Cointreau

3 Tbs. agave nectar or honey

1 cup of raspberries

1 cup cubed watermelon

5-6 strawberries, sliced

5-6 slices of lime

Ice for serving

Optional: club soda or a lemon-lime soda

In a large pitcher combine the rosé wine, triple sec and agave nectar. Add the raspberries, watermelon, strawberries, and lime slices and gently stir to combine. Chill for at least 3-4 hours or overnight. Serve cold, over ice, with a splash of club soda or lemon-lime soda if you prefer a little bubbly in your drink. Make sure to enjoy your wine soaked fruit after finishing off this fruity concoction!

Enjoy!
