Happy Hump Day! It has been a couple rough weeks with deadlines and travel, so it only seems right to celebrate the middle of the week with one of my favorite drinks, White Sangria! Its refreshing white wine, fruit and a little extra sugar, makes it the perfect drink for a hot summer day! I have had this particular recipe for a few years now, and honestly can't remember where I got it from, but it has been used and requested many times! In fact, I loved it so much that it was one of our signature cocktails at our wedding last year, which worked perfectly for our end of May wedding! I also highly recommend making it and filling a plastic pitcher for long days on the lake or beach. The whole recipe takes about 5 minutes to make and really doesn't require that many ingredients, but will probably be the best thing at any get together!
- 1 750-ml bottle dry white wine
- I used Hogue Pinot Grigio left over from the wedding, but check out this post for more suggestions!
- 3/4 cup peach brandy
- 6 tablespoons frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 16-ounce package frozen unsweetened sliced peaches
- 3/4 cup of frozen raspberries - it calls for grapes, but raspberries are so much prettier & tastier!
Combine all the ingredients, stir & enjoy! I like to make a couple hours before drinking so the fruit mixes with the wine a bit more, but you can drink immediately and can save for a few days as well. The sugar settles at the bottom, so just make sure to stir again before serving!
Serve in a beautiful pitcher, plastic pitcher on the boat or in fancy champagne glasses with golden stir sticks, any way you choose you can't go wrong! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have, just be careful because the drink is deceivingly strong and quite sweet!
