"We believe that every girl can embrace who she is, can define who she wants to be, can rise to any challenge, can change the world. CAN." - GOTR
I couldn't believe more in Girls on the Run, their motto and the power and confidence that comes with running and believing in yourself. GOTR, Girls on the Run, is an organization that inspires young girls to realize that they CAN do anything and that being happy, healthy and confident are extremely important today and in the future. The organization does this creatively by integrating running into the curriculum while also bringing important life skills to the table.
There is always someone asking for a donation, but I often find it hard to donate time or money unless I really have a connection to the cause, however I couldn't believe more in Girls on the Run. I personally have found some amazing friends and connections within the running community and can only believe that GOTR helps girls who wouldn't otherwise have an opportunity to participate in running and learning how to be confident young women. Bringing together two very important elements of my life - girl power and running/healthy - I couldn't be happier to support GOTR physically and financially. There are so many different ways to participate from volunteering at one of the two 5k's put on every spring and fall, becoming a solemate, a coach or manning a water stop at one of the many races in Cincinnati. On September 24th you can also support GOTR with participating in a wine tasting, with part of the ticket funds going towards the cause.
Wine & Cheese Night
When: Thursday, September 24th 2015, 6:00-8:00pm
Your $20 ticket includes: 6 tastings, light food and raffle entry
Purchase tickets by September 22 online here!
$5 of each ticket sold will benefit Girls on the Run Cincinnati SoleMate Fundraiser and a percentage of wine sales will go toward a final donation. If you sadly can't attend but still want to make a donation here, no amount is too small!
Your donation helps fund the Girls on the Run which includes training for a 5k (3.1 miles) running event!
I will be there enjoying the company and wine all while supporting an amazing cause! If you can't make it this time, remember that you can either donate or participate in another event. Hope to see some of you there!
