Girls Night with Netflix

Ohio has been extremely snowy, blustery and downright freezing, and the last thing I want to do is put on a pair of heels and go out for drinks, but that doesn't mean you have to sit alone at home. I would much rather have girlfriends over in sweats with delicious homemade cocktails, popcorn, candy and a tv marathon! Carly and I have pulled together some of our favorite shows and movies that you can marathon watch on a Friday night with your best girlfriends!

Carly has been telling me to watch Grantchester for months and I don't know why I have waited so long. Who can resist Masterpiece Mysteries and this one is a really fun murder mystery series set in a charming English village with a handsome young vicar who plays a detective.

If you haven't heard about Making a Murderer I would be shocked. "We can all say that we're never going to commit a crime. But That doesn't mean you won't be accused" -Steven Avery's defense attorney ; you'll definitely find yourself binge watching this true story of Steven Avery's journey through the Justice System.... Is he a killer?? - For fans of the Serial Podcast.

Transparent- I've heard nothing but good things about this Amazon series. Every family has secrets... Watch this family as they grow and transform and find themselves.

Newsroom, one of my favorites that has been around for a while, but doesn't mean you can't enjoy it now. I honestly couldn't stop watching this series, which was based around actual recent news events with an amazing cast trying to present the facts instead of what the public wants. I can't say enough good things about this one, except that it ended.

This modern remake of Arthur Conan Doyle's stories of Sherlock and his trusty sidekick Watson is not to be missed. Benedict Cumberbatch nails the roll of the quirky but brilliant Sherlock- gorgeously shot, incredibly intelligent and a lot of fun! Plus at 90 minutes an episode it's a great way to get through a cold dreary day.

This may be a silly, completely non-thought provoking show, but I have thoroughly enjoyed Happy Endings these past few days. The episodes are short and sweet and really just make you laugh. Easily relatable with 6 friends hanging in Chicago dating and doing other adult things!

If you just want a good movie for girls night check out the following -

Silver Linings Playbook, Clueless, Roman Holiday, Stuck in Love, Serendipity, That Touch of Mink, Leap Year, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Mean Girls, The Buccaneers, Election, How to Marry a Millionaire

If you need a few more shows check out our suggestions from the past here & here. And if you need a good cocktail and popcorn recipe, don't worry because Friday we will have both!

Enjoy & bring on the cold!
