Truer words were never spoken about this delightfully delicious Citron Sparkler cocktail. A simply made cocktail does not have to translate to plain or boring in flavor or appearance. With the right combination of a few key ingredients and the addition of a fresh fruit garnish you can easily have a drink with both complexity and panache!  This is a great recipe to have on hand for special occasions or dinner parties as it provides maximum flavor appeal with minimal effort. Impress your guests while keeping your cool in the kitchen! It'll be our little secret!

Citron Sparkler

From the Ultimate Bar Book by Mittie Hellmich. Makes 1 incredibly delicious drink!

2 Tbs. softened lemon sorbet

1 oz. Chambord or raspberry liqueur

3-5 oz. chilled prosecco (or champagne)

raspberries, lemon peel, or mint sprig for garnish

To make:

  1. Combine the lemon sorbet and Chambord in the bottom of a chilled champagne flute.
  2. Slowly pour in the prosecco or champagne. Take your time with this as the combination of ingredients tends to foam up very quickly!
  3. Skewer or drop the raspberries or other garnish into the drink.
  4. Enjoy! You may find yourself doing a little dance of joy as the sweet tangy flavors of the cocktail hit your tongue!
